Come to Your Senses

How to Create Ease in Nervous System

Explore the five senses and discover how the ancient Ayurvedic holistic treatment- Tanmatra Chikitsa, helps you create more ease in your nervous system. Return home to your five senses and appreciate beauty in simple, daily things like lavender blooms, herbal tea, sunsets, rose water spritzes, and chickadee morning reveille.

The five sensory organs – nose, tongue, eyes, skin, and ears are the physical thresholds into the subtle nervous systems. The five senses of smell, taste, sight, touch, and hearing are the subtle doorways and pathways through which we perceive and receive information and beauty from the world around us.

Take a summer Ayurvedic adventure, by learning how to balance your body and mind through these doorways of perception. In today’s fast paced, technologically driven world, the senses are often overused or misused. This stresses the nervous system. Each week, Kellen Brugman will explore one of the five senses.

This sensory exploration series will help you become more aware of beauty in everyday simple things. It provides easy, effective, and enjoyable self-care tips to create ease in your nervous system.

Tanmatra Chikitsa, by utilizing the five senses and sensory pathways in nervous system, helps awaken the inner pharmacy and create therapeutic influences in the body and mind. Learn how impressions such as sound, touch, images, food, and aromas either stress the five senses and nervous system; or how they restore balance to body, mind, and nervous system. Harmony between the external world and ourselves is maintained by becoming more aware of what we are allowing in through our doorways of perception.
