First full week into Chinese New Year. An auspicious time to pause and reflect on your strategy for manifesting 2022 wellness goals, creative desires, and career dreams. February, month of heart health, is perfect portal to shift mindset and align thoughts into the realm of Universal potential- your heart.

Besides supporting wellbeing in physical body, Ayurveda helps me understand innate mental and emotional tendencies based on my VPK constitution- equal Vata Pitta. A daydream believer and an overachiever queen. Ayurvedic wisdom and lifestyle rituals help me invest in lifestyle choices that support the mental gifts of each dosha; and, help course correct at first alert (purva rupa) of becoming stuck in old mental/emotional patterns.

My pitta dosha loves making daily and weekly goals list. Pitta, the Ayurvedic body/mind type, associated with fire element, has natural mental tendencies to be organized, logical, and driven (mach speed) towards perfection. 

Pitta types love resolutions with well-defined, structured plan. They approach goals like a contract- set in stone timelines and deadlines. Pushing to the max and burning the midnight oil, pitta work mode, as a lifelong work strategy, exhausts one’s vital energy.

Pitta dosha, in order (and holy chaos), to avoid burnout, benefits from vata nature’s approach to goals and dreams. Vata’s mental gifts of visionary imagination and creative trailblazing, approaches life like an adventure, and leaves room for creative possibility. And, when vata’ veers off task, following another new idea, pitta dosha, keen on structure, steers energy back to the present task. 

Alignment Ritual: At first warning bell of burnout or distraction scrolling, step away from desk. Imagine a bullseye on opposite wall, representing your MVP (most valuable purpose) for the day. From Warrior I pose, bring arms in front with hands together, creating an arrow. Inhale hands to heart. Exhale while extending arms and send focus and energy into bullseye. Repeat until mind feels realigned with energies of clarity and ease.
