Kellen Brugman is a certified yoga teacher and Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor. She has practiced yoga for 15 years and Ayurveda for eight years. In order to reduce stress associated with a corporate marketing job, Kellen went to a yoga class in 1996.  A year later she founded Fair Havens Yoga in North Carolina, teaching yoga part-time. In 2000 she made a life change by leaving the corporate world and moving to Nashville to pursue teaching yoga full-time.

Kellen is certified by the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara and The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque. She has studied extensively with the world respected Ayurvedic Physician, Dr. Vasant Lad.  Learning Ayurvedic remedies and ancient Pranayamas from Dr. Lad, she shares these powerful healing principles with clients in private sessions and workshops.

Weaving ancient Ayurvedic healing principles with graceful movement of Vinyasa Yoga, Kellen’s AyurYoga classes create balance in body and mind. AyurYoga uncovers both the physical and energetic experience of a pose. Classes explore the relationship of the poses with the 5 elements, 3 doshas, pranayama, and marma points. Offering students space to experience yoga on a personal level, Kellen helps students turn inward and uncover their true nature through the poses, breath and mindfulness.

Private sessions address your current health needs and fitness goals. Whether it’s recovering from an injury, managing some kind of life stress, or giving yourself a feel good retreat on your mat, these private sessions will help keep your life running smooth and steady.

Drawing on over 12 years of experience of working one on one with clients, Kellen helps her clients experience deeper transformation in their yoga practice. Blending anatomical alignment with intuition and creativity, Kellen creates each session to bring her client to a deeper understanding of the beauty of living a balanced life. These sessions help maintain optimal strength in the body, flexibility in the mind, and serenity in the soul.

In these sessions, I will guide you through poses, using mindful adjustments and marma therapy (Ayurvedic acupressure points) to awaken the vital life force. Poses  and pranayamas (breathing techniques) will help balance the doshas and rejuvenate vital organs. Guided meditation is also offered in these sessions.
