Welcome to Day 18 of #40DaysOfSelfCare. Today’s tip, NOURISH, will give you a strong and sweet heart.
Self-care is a wonderful way to love oneself. It gives one lifelong vitality, well-being, and a healthy and happy heart.
The heart is your treasure chest.
It’s the source for all life sustaining functions. The nutrient and oxygen-rich blood constantly flows through the physical heart. All emotions are processed through the energetic heart. And the heart is the seat of the soul and source of creative inspiration.
The priceless treasures contributing to heart health are daily self-care practices.
Besides getting proper exercise and eating healthy foods, happiness is an important factor in heart health. Researchers at the University of Illinois found that people who were the most optimistic were twice as likely to have ideal cardiovascular health.
Self-care creates healthy and happy bodies, minds, and hearts. This health and happiness expands outwards into all aspects of our lives.
When we learn to nourish through self-care, we are able to flourish everywhere. Flourish in marriages, partnerships, friendships, families, careers, creativity, and community.
Give love and devotion each day to yourself. Staying true to oneself is the best way to enjoy a healthy heart and happy life.
Today’s Self-Care Adventure: 1. Yoga pose. Open and rejuvenate your heart with a gentle reclining spinal twist, followed by supported bridge pose. Visualize smooth flow of blood in heart and through veins and arteries. 2. Marma point. With hands in prayer, place thumbs on mid-sternum for 1-3 minutes. This Ayurvedic acupressure point nourishes the physical heart and helps balance emotions. Inhale serenity. Exhale stress.
