Making healthy lifestyle changes can seem daunting, hard, and even impossible. It IS an adventure, because any change involves risk and the unknown.
And, it’s not always easy to find the time and energy to add more on the “to-do list”. Which is why I always need to remind myself that baby steps are the miracles.
One of my favorite movies is “What About Bob”, starring Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfus. Bob wants to make a life change – to become more stable, confident and happy. Yet, he doesn’t know how to begin.
Bob: I can't do that. It's too big!
Dr. Leo: Baby steps, Bob. Baby steps.
Daily self-care is all about the baby steps. Small changes in the daily routine to include more of the elements of PAMPER, REJUVENATE, NOURISH, CLEANSE and CREATE.
